Selective Oxidation of Methanol to Green Oxygenates – Feasibility Study of Fixed‐Bed and Membrane Reactors

A feasibility study of a conventional fixed-bed reactor and packed-bed membrane (PBMR) in distributor configuration is carried out for the selective oxidation methanol to oxygenates dimethoxymethane methyl formate on VOx/TiO2 catalyst. Kinetic experiments provided reaction network reliable kinetic model six main reactions involved. The PBMR offers significant advantages potential formation both target products due an effective coupling oxidative dehydrogenation consecutive steps broad range operation conditions.
